Troubleshooting

Common issues users encounter on Envision Portal and how to resolve them.

I did not receive my verification email

Check your spam or junk folder first. Verification emails come from the platform's configured sender address.

If the email is not there, log in with your credentials and you will be prompted to resend the verification email.

Verification links expire after 30 minutes. Request a new one if yours has expired.

I cannot log in

  • Double-check that you are using the correct email address and password.
  • Make sure your email address has been verified. Unverified accounts cannot log in.
  • If you have forgotten your password, use the Forgot password link on the login page.
  • If you do not have an account, you need a platform invitation to register. Contact your administrator.

I was invited to a dataset but cannot see it

Dataset invitations are sent by email and require you to have a verified account. Steps to resolve:

  1. Make sure you are logged in with the same email address the invitation was sent to.
  2. Check your email for the invitation link and click it to accept.
  3. If the link has expired, ask the dataset owner to send a new invitation from the Permissions tab.

My access request is not progressing

Access requests are reviewed manually by dataset owners. Response times vary. If your request has been pending for a long time, check whether the dataset has a contact listed and reach out directly.

For controlled access requests, you may need to take action on a data use agreement before access can be granted. Check /app/requests for any pending actions on your side.

I cannot upload files

  • File uploads require editor or higher access on the dataset. If the upload option is not available, check your role with the dataset owner.
  • If uploads are failing mid-way, try a smaller file first to confirm your connection is stable.

I cannot find a dataset I published

After publishing, datasets appear in the public discovery interface at /datasets. It may take a few moments for the dataset to appear in search results after publication.

If the dataset does not appear, confirm that the publishing workflow was fully completed through the finalize step.
